Married: Meredith & Brian

You guys, there are days that I can't believe that this is our job.  I feel so darn fortunate that we get to do this for "work"...and for the people that we get to meet through it---like Meredith, Brian and their families and friends.   Eli and I loved photographing this wedding--everyone was so welcoming, and we felt like a part of the celebration immediately.  The other piece is that Meredith and Brian (and their families) love so unabashedly and aren't afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves.  Meredith's longtime friend, Rev. Courtney Clayton Jenkins presided over the wedding and it was one of the most heart-warming and emotional ceremonies we've photographed.  

The emotion definitely spilled over into the reception. Meredith's father presented the couple with a very old bottle of Scotch that had been given to him by a coworker when she was two weeks old.  One of Meredith's bridesmaids toasted them with the jazz standard of "I Wish You Love" and every. single. one. of the guests tore up the dance floor to 90's R&B.  It was definitely our kind of party.
