Engaged: Marcus & Amber's State Fair Engagement Session

Although I grew up in Iowa I have zero, zip, nada, no knowledge of farms, farm animals or farm equipment. It came as a complete surprise, about 5 years ago, when I learned that tractors come in more colors than just green and yellow. But I'm fascinated by farms and animals. Anytime I meet someone with a farming background I have two immediate questions:  Do you have baby cows and baby pigs?  And can I come photograph them?  So far: no such luck.   When Amber & Marcus starting throwing around ideas for their engagement session, they mentioned their fond memories of visiting the State Fair early in their dating history.  Naturally, we said a big YES (with lots of exclamation points because that's how I roll) to that suggestion and luckily they agreed to shooting at dawn (with far fewer exclamation points) so that we could take advantage of no crowds and beautiful light.  Also--because I really wanted to see all the animals rolling out of bed, looking all sleepy and cuddly. It's totally a thing, you guys.

From dancing in the sunlight, to throwing popcorn, to following a llama up and down the street--the shoot was perfect.  Amber and Marcus complement each other perfectly.  I love the way Marcus looks at Amber and, judging by the smile that's always on her face, I'm pretty sure she does too.

See you two next summer for what's sure to be a beautiful and amazing day!
