Married: Chris & Jessie's Rattlesnake Ledge Elopement
One of the things I love about our job is how varied it can be; one wedding can have 300 guests doing bottle shots on the dane floor and, the next, an intimate wedding in the woods in which I get to sign the marriage license as a witness. This wedding was one of the latter--Chris & Jessie's elopement at Rattlesnake Ledge in Washington State.
Chris & Jessie met at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and have been inseparable ever since. Art is a big part of their lives, so it’s fitting that their first date and engagement session was at a sculpture park. They're funny, sweet, and true to themselves. So, when they decided to elope, they found Rattlesnake Ledge and gave us a call. Because it was just going to be themselves and their officiant on the mountain, I took a turn woking solo.
The wedding was on a piece of trail leading up to Rattlesnake Ledge itself. It was so quiet in the woods that you hardly had to whisper to be heard. No microphones, no clearing of throats, just the wind in the leaves and the clinking of glasses as Jessie and Chris toasted their marriage with a glass of homemade mead.
Guys, thanks for having me along to document your beautiful elopement. I feel so lucky to have been been there. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I did making them.
