The Barbarian & The Bombshell: a Minneapolis Wedding

Chad & Lisa’s wedding was equal parts earnest sentimentality and fun-loving whimsy.  Their librarian meets RollerGirl celebration was dubbed, “The Barbarian & The Bombshell” and had Eli and I talking for days.  We loved that they chose to be married at the Loring Pasta Bar by a close friend, wrote their own vows, and included a moment of silence dedicated to those who do not yet have the right to marry.  While their vows were heartfelt and meaningful their playful nature shined through when another friend read the children’s book, “Your Personal Penguin.” There wasn’t a straight face in the house. All night, friends & family kept pouring into the Varsity Theater to help them celebrate.  Some friends busied themselves reading romance novels left at each table while others grooved to the couple’s favorite band, Cadillac Kolstad.  The night was complete with delicious sweets from Cocoa & Fig and a serenade performed by Lisa’s RollerGirl teammates.

I know we say it time after time but we really love it when couples are true to themselves and make their weddings personal and unique celebrations.
